  INEC Chairman Sends Danger Signals To President Bola Tinubu; Historic Disqualification Looms; As INEC Set To Publish The Ages, States Of Origin, Educational Qualifications, Schools Attended, All Credentials Of The 2027 Presidential Candidates Today; For All Nigerians To Scrutinise With Modern Technology And Determine Any Fake Or Criminally Forged Documents

The attention of "Atiku Is For The People" global movement, has on Saturday, been drawn to the statement credited to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, that it will publish the personal particulars of the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly Candidates, on August 1, 2026.

This is a welcome development. For once, let the documents speak for themselves.

The core weakness in our democracy, is that we have accepted inconsistency as normal. In 2023, INEC was summoned by the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, to produce Form EC9, the affidavit of personal particulars President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, submitted to qualify for the election. That document is what Nigerians must now scrutinise again, on August 1; because math does not lie, and in Public Office, the math must add up.

Let us be mathematical and factual; using what is already in the public record from INEC and Court filings. In the Form EC9 submitted to INEC, President Tinubu stated his date of birth as March 29, 1952. He has also publicly affirmed this date, telling the Chatham House, London, in 2023: “At the time of birth, I was dated March 29, 1952.” That would make him 74 years old as at August 2026.

However, the controversy is that Chicago State University, CSU, United States of America, USA, records released in 2023, listed a different birth year of 1954, a 2-year gap. CSU attributed this to “human error”. Nonetheless, Nigerians must ask and independently verify: Which date is on the August 1, 2026, EC9 form?

On education, Petitioners before the Tribunal alleged “inconsistency as to Secondary Schools he attended (Government College, Ibadan)”. Other records in the public domain state that he attended St. John's Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos, and Children Home School, in Ibadan. Yet a 1970 GCE A-level result was reportedly presented, linking him to Government College, Lagos, an Institution that, according to the same report, was established in 1974. That is 4 years before it existed. The math does not add up here. August 1, 2026, must clarify what Schools and what year are listed for President Tinubu.

The document INEC will publish on August 1, 2026, is the same Form EC9 category submitted ahead of the February 25, 2023, Presidential election. That submission was tendered in Court in 2023, as Exhibit PAJ 40. The 2023 petition also alleged a CSU degree certificate bearing the name “Bola Tinubu”, but marked the gender as “F” for "Female"; and non-disclosure of Guinean citizenship and international passport. These were the issues that forced INEC to the witness box.

Nigerians must not be emotional about this scrutinisation. We must be inquisitive. When INEC publishes, we must check the age and date of birth, to see if it is still March 29, 1952, and if it matches the University transcripts. W must check that the State of origin is stated clearly, with the Local Government Area. We must check what Secondary School and what year of graduation is listed, and whether the timeline matches the founding year of the school.

If the 2026 EC9 repeats the 2023 claim of March 29, 1952, then we have a baseline. If it changes, we have a new questions. If it lists a Secondary School established after the claimed graduation year, the math fails again, and calls for disqualification must begin.
