President Bola Tinubu Betrays The Entire Northern Region; Scatters The Political Structure Built By Late President Muhammadu Buhari; As The Very Marginalised Northerners Vow To Respond And Punish The 2027 APC Presidential Candidate With Their Massive Decisive Winning Votes At The 2027 Polls

Emerging reports reaching "Atiku Is For The People" global movement on Friday, show that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has, since May 2023, systematically dismantled the political structure he inherited from late former President Muhammadu Buhari's administration, and replaced it with a new power base built around his own Loyalists.

Across Federal Ministries, Agencies and the All Progressives Congress, APC, key figures associated with the 8 years of President Buhari’s Federal Government, have been eased out, criminally investigated or sidelined.

For Northern Nigeria, which delivered the decisive votes that kept the APC in power in 2015 and 2019, the message is clear. The alliance has changed; and ahead of 2027, the signs from Kano, Kaduna and Katsina States, as well as the Middle Belt region, point to a major voter re-alignment.

The pattern started within the first year of the President Tinubu administration. Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, was nominated as Minister, but failed the Senate's screening, over what was termed as security concerns. He has since early 2026, been cooling off in detention, for other criminal allegations by the President Tinubu administration.

Former Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, was not reappointed by the President Tinubu administration in any capacity. Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, was mentioned in reports by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on COVID-19 and palliative funds, and has faced questionings.

Former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele, was arrested in June 2023, and is currently facing multiple criminal charges.

Former Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, Abubakar Malami, SAN, left Office in 2023, and has since faced public scrutiny over decisions taken during his tenure, including assets recovery and the handling of high-profile cases, by the President Tinubu administration.

Former Minister of Labour, Dr. Chris Ngige, was not returned to the cabinet, nor appointed in any other capacity.

Former Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari, exited the Federal Government and was not invited back. Former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, is facing criminal charges related to a coup plot allegation.

These were central pillars of the Buhari Presidency and the APC coalition. Their removal was not random. It reflects a deliberate move by President Tinubu to break from the previous structure and consolidate power around his own.

What has replaced the President Buhari structure is governance run through a narrow network of personal Loyalists, mostly from the South-West, and Technocrats without independent political bases.

Decisions on appointments and economic policy now flow from this circle. State Governors and Party Leaders who do not align, complain of reduced access and resources. Within the APC, the sense is that the government is now driving the party, and not the other way round.

For 8 years, the North was told it was a co-owner of the APC project. Today, many Northern Stakeholders feel reduced to spectators under President Tinubu's leadership.

Northern voters are pragmatic. In 2015, they voted out the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. In 2023, they gave the APC another chance, but with reduced margins in Kano, Kaduna and Katsina States, according to INEC's results.

Talks are already ongoing across the North, about aligning with His Excellency, former Vice President and 2027 Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Atiku Abubakar, who promises security, economic relief, among other needs.

President Tinubu has the right to restructure his government; and so do the Northern voters have the right to respond in 2027.

Emerging alignments show that the response will be massive and brutal.
